Waist beads culture has been worn since the 15th centenary. Worn mainly and made popular by the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria. Also, images can be found in the Egyptians tomb wall of Egyptians wearing beads called girdles. Women in Ghana also wear waist beads as a symbolic adornment.
